Just after sunrise on Thanksgiving morning, Team StoneMass laced up our sneakers and headed to Balboa Park. Upon arrival, we were joined by over 10,000 participants in the Father Joe’s Thanksgiving Day 5K charity walk around the beautiful and historic San Diego park.
Father Joe’s is a non-profit organization based in San Diego that provides full, healthy meals for the homeless within our community. Our hearts were set on doing all that we could to give back to our community. In preparation for the event, Team StoneMass created an online marketing campaign geared toward raising awareness and money for Father Joe’s. Two weeks prior to the walk, StoneMass spread our message using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and email. We challenged our fans, friends and clients to help us raise both awareness and money by sharing our goal with their networks. For each new ‘Like’ our Facebook page received, Team StoneMass donated $1 to the charity.
The end result- we were able to donate over $200 to Father Joe’s! Not only did we contribute to a great cause, but we also increased our Facebook fan base by 14% and got our fitness on! Because the campaign was so successful, Team StoneMass collectively decided to make it an annual company event in the coming years.
